For a whole host of reasons, The Day of Stolen Bicycles was an especially meaningful project for me. I grew to love each of the characters, and by the end I had imagined full backstories for every one of them. I’m so grateful to Amicus for selecting me as the illustrator and to the art Director Kim Pfeffer for being so good to work with. I’m now developing presentations and classroom activities inspired by the book, as well as sessions that focus more directly on the artistic process.
