Pet Portraiture, Who Knew?
Alongside my illustration work I’ve begun painting a small series of animal portraits. They started as studies — an opportunity to spend time looking closely at form, texture, and expression — but they’ve naturally led toward commissioned work.
The paintings are done in traditional oil paint, either on archival cotton rag oil paper or on cradled wooden panels. Most of the current pieces are small formats — A5 to A3 on paper, or modest panel sizes — which suit the intimacy of portrait studies.
If you’d like to talk about a portrait of a particular animal, feel free to get in touch.
